New Sacramento Brazilian Center

The Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange is one of Sacramento’s hidden gems. Not only does the center strive to share with the public traditional Brazilian culture in the form of samba, Portuguese, drumming and capoeira classes, but also part of our mission is to share and encourage cultural exchange from all over the world.   We beileve through dance and drumming can cultivate self-respect and pride amongst the younger generation which in turn will guide them to make better choices throughout life. 

For five years the center has been in an isolated part of Sacramento hindering public exposure and growth. We have been afforded the opportunity to move to a central and lively location, sharing space with other artists and performers in the old Fremont Adult School in Midtown Sacramento. Unfortunately, we have many repairs to make to the new space such as a new dance floor, renovating the bathroom and remodeling the kitchen. With everyone’s generous support we hope to offer more classes, including Brazilian cooking lessons! We will expand our store, which includes ingredients only found in Brazil. The center will continue to offer belly dancing, Zumba and Spanish lessons while hopefully expanding many of our existing programs within our new home.
