Our intention for this campaign is to revolutionize the publishing industry by creating a non-profit organization that publishes bits of brilliance in 100 pages or less!
For centuries, 200 and 300 page books have been the norm.
My mom has always said educational books could be much shorter. It would save us all time and we'd be able to implement the lessons we learned sooner!
Most book publishers don't accept small books. The profit margins are not big enough to make it worth taking on as a client.
So a wise person who could share amazing wisdom in 50 pages is left having to figure out the self-publishing world; when all they really want to do is publish a bit of brilliance and move on.
My mom has written her first book "How I Quit Smoking After 40 Years" - after trying 10 or 11 times to quit, she figured out a system that has kept her smoke free for 7 years. Her first draft is less than 70 pages and traditional publishers were not interested.
This crowd funding campaign is to reach into the community and seek support for establishing a non-profit publishing company that produces educational content in condensed form.
My mom's dream for her book is that it be small enough so it can easily be carried, read and easily shared with others. Her vision is that her book will receive feedback from readers and updates allowing for multiple versions that will include tips, ideas and success stories from others and enhance her content.
My mom's dream is for our publishing company to produce books that get the community involved in their creation and to provide the next set of readers with even better content than the original.
Bits of Brilliance Publishing brings the unique value of helping local community authors host Content Enhancement Sessions. This allows content to be presented to the community prior to being published. Members of the community interested in learning the material prior to publication will be part of Beta Test groups that commit to implementing the concepts in the book and will provide feedback to enhance the reader's experience.
The first book we will publish will be my mom's book "How I Quit Smoking After 40 Years" and the second book we publish will be my book "The Manifest Opportunity Blueprint". Both are life changing and under 100 pages! They are easy to read, easy to implement and tested on real people prior to publication.

Funds from this campaign will be used to:
1. Obtain fiscal sponsorship and have non-profit 501(3)(c) status by February 2013.
2. By January 2013, host the inaugural Content Enhancement Sessions for the first two books where members of the community will get access to the education and provide feedback to enhance the final publications.
3. Develop a professional website that allows instant access to the publications being offered in ebook and MP3 format. Website to be completed by February 2013.
4. Produce the Dream On affirmation MP3 by December 7th, 2012.
5. Hire an editor and graphic designer to help with the final pieces of "How I Quit Smoking After 40 Years"
6. Purchase our initial block of ISBN numbers.
7. Cover the setup costs for legal and administrative paperwork.
The books offered as part of your donation, will be published after the content enhancements are integrated. That will be a 3 to 6 months process. Your support during the launch and incubation time is very much appreciated! Custom MP3s will be provided within 10 days of your donation!
