Bill Rogers is a former Liberian Olympic 1500 meter runner who ascended to the level of a world class athlete against a backdrop of unimaginable pain, tragedy, and poverty brought on by the Liberian Civil Crisis.

Forced to train in Kenya due to the lack of training facilities and quality coaching in Liberia, Bill vowed to never let a talent go to waste by building the first ever Bill Rogers Youth & Development Center to serve three main purposes: 1. To create an environment where young athletes can be encouraged to develop their full potential. (Top athletes will have the opportunity to live in residence at the facility) 2. Serve as a community center (weekly farmers market, food pantry, library and clinic. 3. Serve as an after school enrichment center for area schools providng meals, athletic activities, educational programming including homework assistance and more. The center will also be available for graduations, tournaments, regional meetings for NGOs and other partners, etc.

The state-of-the-art  center will boast indoor basketball and volleyball courts, an indoor track, indoor soccer, weight room, indoor skills training space, outdoor soccer field, outdoor track, outdoor basketball, medical trainer, library, convention style meeting space, dining hall, youth play center featuring games and lounge areas, and many other amenities.

The groundbreaking of the first Bill Rogers Youth & Development Center on 25 acres in Bill's hometown of Kakata, approximately 20 miles outside of The capital of Monrovia, will take place during the summer of 2016. The 25 acres has been donated to the organization by local leaders who see the urgent need to provide a safe place for our youth to develop their talents, benefit from quality after school programming, and serve as a community hub. All funds raised will go to construction costs, architecture fees, and facility furnishings and supplies.

Your generous support will greatly benefit the underserved children of the impoverished nation of Liberia. Our proud nation is on the rise and it begins with our children who are the leaders of tomorrow. Over 55% of the current population is under the age of 25, and some research has that number closer to 60%. Our failure to support them will be an indictment on us and speak volumes relative to what we want the future of Liberia to be. Our children are full of talent and hope. The Bill Rogers Youth Foundation (BRYF) wants to ensure that all of their talent is given the platform to develop and their hope is given the wings to soar and dream big dreams.

Join us in the movement to transform Liberia by first transforming the lives of Liberian youth. No Movement No Improvement!
