Giving Silent Cyclists a Voice

I need your help speaking up for silent cyclists.
13 years ago, my friend Chris Phelan started the Ride of Silence (www.RideofSilence.org). His intent was to honor those cyclists who had been injuured or killed while riding their bicycles. Since that time, Chris and I have both learned some startling truths. The most jarring lesson was that many cyclists are killed every year due to the errors and bad choices made by motorists. Then we learned that many of those motorists are never held accountable for their actions.
After the Ride of Silence this past May, Chris and I talked about how we could bring these stories to light through a coordinated national media campaign around the Ride of Silence in May 2016 - which will happen in over 280 locations in 49 states.
Our plan is to collect stories from each of those communities and to release them to the media outlets within those communities. Our hope is to generate communication between local cyclists and local officials so that we can change the dynamic.
The Ride of Silence has started a campaign to raise funds to support this effort. My goal is to supplement their campaign and raise the financial support I will need so that I can dedicate a large portion of my time to this effort.
Our campaign will not offer solutions or attack/accuse other groups of misbehavior. Our desire is to avoid arguments and debates while stimulating conversations and actions on local levels by giving voice to the stories of these deceased cyclists.
Please help me give these silent cyclists a voice. Make whatever donation you can afford. Ask your friends to support this effort. Above all else, please share the road safely - whether you are driving a bike, car, truck or bus. ALL our lives depend on it.
