Boston Ski Youth to Championships

The Boston Ski Party (BSP) is a unique organization helping to change the face of competitive snow sports. After a season of weekly training with BSP and lots of hard work, 37 diverse young people from greater Boston have qualified for the 2015 National Standard Race (NASTAR) ski and snowboard Championships in Aspen Colorado. Now, we have just two weeks to raise $10,000 so that seveal of our top racers can participate in this incredible opportunity.
Please help Boston Ski Party cover the costs of travel, lodging and lift tickets so these young people can focus on honing their skills and realizing their own potential. As they compete against some of the top talent across the United States, each of these young people will be challenged to push their own limits, and will serve as powerful and inspiring role models for other BSP youth. Every gift helps!
Meet a Few of BSP's NASTAR Finalists:
Jamai is a 8-year-old snowboarder from Roslindale and a student at the Edward Brooke Charter School. Jamai has been snowboarding for four years, and he hopes to some day compete in the Olympics. When asked about Jamai's experience with BSP, his mom raves, "[He] loves it! Competing in Colorado would be a significant achievement toward his Olympic goals."
Alyssa is a 14-year-old from Hyde Park, who has been skiing with the Boston Ski Party since she was 7 years old. She describes her time with BSP: "I have made new friends while I exercise and learn new things. I look forward to skiing every Sunday!" Alyssa is so excited to ski out west. "It is an honor to represent my club, The Boston Ski Party and our mountain, Pat's Peak. I have never been to Colorado, and never skied anywhere but New England!"
"My name is Nathan, and I am 12 years old, I live in Jamaica Plain and am in the 7th grade at the Josiah Quincy Upper School. I have been skiing for 7 years and have been skiing with the Boston Ski Party for for 6 years. My whole family skis with the Boston Ski Party and my dad is a coach. Being able to compete in Colorado means a lot to me because I worked hard to try and achieve the fastest score and I did it!"
Cameron is a 13-year-old from Dorchester, in the seventh grade at Boston Latin School. When he's not skiing, Cameron enjoys other sports like basketball and tennis. Now in his fourth year with Boston Ski Party, Cameron describes, "BSP has been a great community and a learning environment. I have made great friends and improved on my racing skills." Cameron hopes to pursue a career in sports and attend a college where he can ski.
Tyler is a 17-year-old from Millis, MA who has been snow boarding with BSP for 3 years. "BSP is all about team, but recognizes that we are individuals with different skill levels. My knowledgeable coaches provided me with a wealth of technical and safety expertise allowing me to fine tune my snowboarding skills. The coaches are all very positive. Everyone - and I mean everyone -at BSP is friendly and helpful. 'I don’t know' are words that do not exist in the vocabulary of coaches and leaders of BSP. The program not only nourishes our skills, but the parents make sure we are fed. The home-cooked food that is prepared is tasty! I have made so many friends at BSP. It is a family environment and even when we are not skiing or snowboarding we get together for summer activities. I would never have thought of participating in competitive snowboarding without BSP!"
BSP Mission:
Boston Ski Party’s mission is to promote skiing and snowboarding to youth in the Greater Boston area and to provide opportunities for young people to become leaders in their communities. Through skiing and snowboarding we strive to engage youth in healthy and active lifestyles. We aim to increase their confidence, build their skills, and ultimately enable them to advance and compete on local and national race teams.
