Ashley's World Food Championships

I spent much of my upbringing in family-owned restaurants, and I've always had a love of food and cooking.

Lately I've focused this passion into competitive cooking. Last year I was the Atlantic finalist for Canada's Best Sandwich Competition. But now I've reached the highest level of competition: I entered a qualifying competition for the World Food Championships in the burger category, and I qualified!

The World Food Championships is an international cooking competition held in Las Vegas and the basis for a TV show on the U.S. cable network Fyi. I'll be competing against some of the world's best chefs and home cooks to produce the world's best burger. And if I succeed, I'll move on to compete against winners of the other categories for the title of World Food Champion. (See the video below to get a better sense of the event.)

But I need your help to do it. While my entry fee to the competition is covered, I still need to cover my travel, accommodation, supplies and incidental fees.
