Arnold Schiemann passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Thursday morning, March 19, 2015 in Manila, Philippines.
Arnold lived on his own terms and didn’t compromise to fit into the idea of what we are expected to do in life. He had an exterior that was intense and larger than life while an inside which was tender, thoughtful and incredibly compassionate.
Christine was the perfect compliment to Arnold. With her, he was well cared for, and she was tireless in her effort to treat him like the true Prince that he was.
Arnold was so proud of his wife Christine. She had an amazing ability to balance heartfelt kindness while still challenging him everyday. Those who had the good fortune of knowing them often heard them speak of each other in ways that truly reflected a rare love.
Both living in Manila, Philippines, Christine and Arnold spent much of their time in their own small world day and night, which brought them very close. They were each other's world.
With Arnold's financial and emotional support, Christine educated herself in the skill of tailoring and grew her own micro business out of nothing right from home. In addition, she started a second small business coloring hair. This allowed her to supplement their rather meager income.
All this being said, the future is pretty uncertain for Christine at this point. Whether she chooses to come to live in the U.S., or decides to stay in her home in the Philippines, the long road of sorting out the pieces of a shattered world stands before her.
This fund has been set up on her behalf. Your help will allow her to have the time and means to continue to move forward in her grief and in her, now, new life as a widow.
