Amory's Adoption

Dear friends, 

Many of you have known Amory from the day she came to live with us. Little did we know that what was meant to be a short 6 weeks stay would turn into 4 years and us being Amory's forever family. 


We agreed to care for Amory for what was supposed to be a few short weeks in order to help out her Grandmother who is a family friend. Several months later she was still in our care but not in the foster care system. This has complicated matters and there have been several points along the way where we were unsure of what Amory's future would look like. There have been many court days and custody/visitation issues but God has been with us through it all. Our faith has been our guide.

After a long journey of uncertainty, we are finally in a place in which we can legally adopt Amory. We always say that Amory is adopted in our hearts, but now we feel it is crucial to move forward legally. We ALL need the security that being legally adopted brings. We have prayed and wrestled about how to achieve this. This is where we feel lead to ask for help. It seems financially improbable to us, but we believe strongly that it is meant to be. 

We have met with a lawyer and now have a plan for adoption. All that is stopping us from moving forward is finances. We have taken a leap of faith and retained a lawyer. Due to Amory not being in Foster care we do not receive any support in this area. We have been given an estimate of $4,000 for Termination of Parental Rights (TPR) and $4,000 for the Adoption itself.
