My name is Alarice & I started this GoFundMe account to help my little girl. She earned the opportunity to represent Baton Rouge in the National American Miss All American PreTeen pageant in California this November. Unfortunately, I've been scheduled for surgery August 3 so that will wipe out all the funds we had saved for her trip. I'd planned to take her to meet potential sponsors but by the time my doctor says it's ok for me to drive, the deadline will have passed to get sponsorship funds turned in. I'm hoping this account will help her because she's worked so hard to make it this far and I hate to let her down. Hi, my name is Alaina Walker. I'm 11 years old & will be in 6th grade this coming school year at Iberville Math, Science & Arts Academy West. I work really hard in school & recently received the 2015 President's Award for Academic Excellence & was accepted into a new Apple program at my school called Starship (it focuses on STEM careers, or as my academic director likes to call it, STEAM careers lol). I love Art, Science & Reading. My dream is to become a famous artist with artwork hanging in your home & a scientist who finally discovers medicine that kids won't mind taking because it actually does taste like grapes lol! National American Miss is helping me to accomplish my dreams!
I've been competing with National American Miss (NAM) for five years & I LOVE it! I've learned so much, made lots of friends, gained more confidence than I thought possible & I'm growing as a person! NAM is not your average pageant. It's a natural system for girls ages 4-20, that teaches interview and leadership skills, time management, the importance of community service & much more! This year at my state pageant, I won the Art & Actress competitions as well as Best Resume! I also got the 2nd runner PreTeen Queen title & 1st runner up Casual Wear Model title! I'm really excited about my accomplishments because I worked really hard AND they gave me the opportunity to compete at the national pageant in November! Our National All American Miss PreTeen competition is in California this Thanksgiving. I will be representing the city of Baton Rouge while competing against some other pretty terrific girls my age from all over the country. I believe the Queen should be willing to work hard to show other girls what pageantry is really about: making productive, strong, confident women out of amazing girls, like me! I want to help even more people through my community service work and hopefully share something with someone that can change a life. This is why I want to be YOUR Queen!
