Foster and Adoption Fund

We both have wanted children for many years and seem to have every obstacle a couple can run into on the road to becoming parents. We did not get discouraged! After a lot of deep and emotional conversations we have decided to become a foster family in Larimer County! We are super excited, but know now that we are in an interesting position. How do you have a "baby shower" when you are not "having" a baby... or may be taking in older children... and likely will only have some children temporarily...
So... we are turning our gofundme account into a substitute. *Not to say we may not have a baby shower later on in the case of an adoption situation in the future*
Some background info on us (in case you are curious):
Jessica:
I own and operate a housecleaning business that I was offered as a fantastic opportunity by a wonderful friend about a year ago. It has grown, and I am very pleased where I have gotten with the business in the past year.
My favorite bands are NOFX, and Old Crow Medicine Show. I love cooking, turtles, and craft beers.
Also... I was adopted and have been so grateful for the beautiful life I was given.
Holly:
I have worked for a surgeon for nearly six years as a medical technician, I.T. and EMR support, and ACA specialist. I have recently decided to go back to school and will be taking online classes so that I am able to work part time to be at home with my family more.
My favorite bands are AFI and Rise Against. I love politics, gardening, and wine tasting.
Also... I have tried to get pregnant several times and am unable to... struggling with infertility has been heartbreaking.
Us:
We met while we were both teenagers working at IHOP and became best friends almost immediately. We stayed friends through adversity and life changes... and finally we realized how much we loved each other. We began dating on a spontaneous weekend vacation September 2006, and the rest is history!
We had our Civil Union in Colorado on the day it was legal; May 1st, 2013... and a year later we went to Santa Fe, New Mexico and got married on May 1st, 2014.
We love camping, painting, our animals, spending time with our families (and they are both HUGE). Our favorite TV shows are Criminal Minds, Survivor, and The Big Bang Theory.
We love caring for children. We have been lucky enough to have nieces and nephews that we are very close to... but no children of our own. There are so many children out there that need a good place to stay; whether it be for a short time, or permanently we want to open our hearts, and our home to children in our community, and hopefully be able to adopt and add to our family!
