Arena represents a big part of what has been my primary goal for the past bunch of years, or even before that when I was a young punk kid living in Brooklyn using my lunch money to go grab the latest issue of Captain America by Kirby or ElfQuest by the Pini's. (and oh soo much more back when.)
Its about Fulfilling dreams... mine but also those I work with and those I play with. I want to produce comics... it's that simple.
Who am I? - My name for those that don't know me is Peter Palmiotti, I have worked in comics since 1991 (when I was 28 years of age) I had a late start and began my career as an inker (there's whole crews in making comics, got a question, just ask away.) It's been 20 plus years of a true passion of mine. I worked for Marvel, DC, Image and a slew of independent publishers, and great people all around. I've learned so much and have plenty more to learn each day... especially if I want to make comics!
What's the story behind ARENA? - The short story behind ARENA is that it was originally a web comic back more then a few years. Mike Heronime was the artist, the story was written by his son Terry Heronime and inked by myself. It was posted on Mike's then website PositiveBrand. Mike at the time was doing a collection of cool webcomics and started to print them in comic form, ARENA was next until I opened my big mouth... so here we are, this comic needs finishing!
Where will our cash go? - The pledges will go towards getting the lettering & production done (the story itself is only 20 pages (a one-shot with lots of extras to be included.) also some of the funds will go to marketing, press, printing & supplies.
