Running for an AED for Elvington
Donation protected
Hi Everyone
My name is Colin Skelton, I live in Elvington in York. Along with a dedicated team of volunteers I am a Community First Responder in the Village for the Yorkshire ambulance service. A lot of people in the village do not know that we we exist. Pretty much how it works is if someone falls ill and needs immediate medical attention and dials 999, if the call is appropriate for us to attend we will get notified and drop what we are doing and rush to your aid before the Paramedics and ambulance crew get to you. We do not take the place of the medical professionals we exist solely to try and assist our fellow villagers if the need should arise.
I have set up this page in order to try and raise the funds to purchase an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) that will be strategically placed in the village for the public to gain access to if a first responder is not on duty and the paramedics and ambulance crews are delayed for any reason.
I am not asking for the funds for free! I will be running the great north run again this year and my first Marathon. The York Marathon. I enjoy fundraising for necessary causes and I believe that our village will benefit from this. If you would like to donate to this cause I would greatly appreciate it and as a villager it will benefit you if the need should arise.
Many thanks in advance
