Mahomet's Sangamon River Music Festival originated in 1997. Our first act consisted of a few musicians sitting under a tent on hay bails playing music. Over time, it has evolved into a two day festival with a mix of local and national music talent, street vendors, carnival rides, a food court, parade, and more! This year, the streets of downtown Mahomet, IL will once again be filled August 28 & 29th, with the sounds of great music, food and fun.
NEW 2015 will will be presenting- "CRAFTER'S VILLAGE" a designated area highlighting handmade/homemade goods for sale.
The festival is a FREE event for the community and surrounding areas. It's a great venue for the entire family. The festival is directed by volunteers and funded by local businesses, church groups and civic organizations. In an effort to continue to keep the event free to the attendees, the committee is trying to expand our fundraising efforts. We are seeking support from members of the community who enjoy the annual Sangamon River Music Festival. Please help us continue the bring this free event to the area.
