Help Lincoln Inquiry Charter School (LINCS) purchase Chromebooks for all our 4th and 5th grade students.
Student learning in the 21st Century is unlike anything that most adults have experienced. Technology has broken down the walls of the classroom and students can now access and share information instantaneously anywhere around the world.
LINCS is an instrumentality charter school of the Whitewater Unified School District. LINCS enrolls students from 4K through 5th Grade. LINCS mission is to provide an integrated, multi-age, inquiry based education to empower and develop global leaders to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.
LINCS teachers, staffs and students are excited for the upcoming school year. In addition to our Inquiry Based Learning and Multi-Age Education, LINCS is exploring Individualized Learning to better meet our students’ needs.
LINCS would like to purchase Chromebooks for all 4th and 5th grade students. The books will help foster a deeper level of knowledge, excitement, and sense of wonder about inquiry learning. Students will utilize the Chromebooks to access different programs, collaborate with experts and other people around the world, when conducting inquiry projects and jury presentations. Students will also be able to utilize the Chromebooks to communicate with their teachers, access the standards they need to work on and keep track of progress made towards goals and standards.
Because Google Applications are available wherever there is internet access, learning can take place anytime and almost anywhere.
Our Goal is to purchase enough chrome books to have a 1 to 1 ratio for Chromebooks to students. Currently, we are allotted 10 Chromebooks for each class. However the projected class size is 26 students. We need to purchase 64 more Chromebooks to give our students access to their own device and reach our Chromebook to student ratio goal. Our students are actively engaged in the process and are currently working on other fundraising activities to help purchase additional Chromebooks.
Technology is a key component to help teachers engage, educate, and activate students' creativity, curiosity, and foster their intrinsic motivation to be self-directed life long learners who strive for knowledge and understanding both within themselves and in the world around them.
