A run of bad luck

This year has been by far the hardest with our run of bad luck. In order to solve the majority of our problems we need to buy a "new" car because our cars are broken and the money we had saved up continuously went into fixing them.

We've attached a timeline that we made online but I'll give a brief rundown on our situations since January 2nd.  Timeline

Began on Shane's first day back to work of the New Year where a 700lb wall came down on his arm and broke both bones, severed a nerve, and destroyed the muscles.




The next day the Volvo was retrieved from the jobsite and as I was driving, it broke down and had to be towed the 75 miles home where we found out it had blown a head gasket. A month later our Ford Escort blew a head gasket. We fixed the Volvo in February ($1000) and fixed the Ford in April ($800), both were fixed with our tax refunds. Then driving back from dinner with the family on Easter, we were smashed on the 91 fwy.  A F150 truck hit us on the rear drivers side on the far right of the fwy, sending us spiraling into the carpool wall 3 times resulting in our Volvo being totaled.

The truck driver had fled the scene, but we had found him only to find out he had no insurance.

So this year has been far from the best and all of our problems come from our vehicles. If Shane's dad wasn't  a mechanic then we would have been done from the beginning. Shane is on workers comp that barely covers our rent and I work full time as well as go to CSUF full time to barely cover the bills. We are looking to raise money to buy a car that is reliable and affordable. Our goal is $10,000 which can break down into 1,000 people donating just $10 which makes this crazy idea sound possible.
