Volunteer trip: Nepal
Donation protected
Hi there, and thank you for visiting our page!
Our names are Caitlyn Monaghan and Amy Reid, and at the start of 2015 we are travelling to Kathmandu, Nepal for 6 weeks to volunteer at a local school teaching English to school children aged between 6-17!
Both students of Monash University studying Journalism who have decided to defer for a portion of the year to save for this incredible oppurtunity, we need all the financial help we can get. This is where you come in!
Travelling with a well known international company, Projects Abroad, the cost for our trip is $3620 which will go towards our food, accomodation, 24/7 support from back home in Australia and the local office in Kathmandu.
With Nepal being a developing country, there is an extremley high rate of unemployment and a large proportion of the population live below the poverty line. Being home to the most famous mountain in the world, Mount Everest, there is great potential for the country to profit from the tourist industry where of course understanding and speaking English is a crucial factor.
We are both very excited to be part of the Project Abroad trip to Nepal to teach invaluable English skills to those who really need it. Your donations will be helping us help others, and appreciated no matter the amount.
Have a look at one of the previous Project Abroad trips to Nepal to find out a bit more :)
