Fighting Lyme Disease

Hi, I'm Cheryl and I’ve been fighting symptoms of Lyme disease for most of my life without knowing it.  It wasn't until after the birth of my 5th child that I started becoming really sick (sometimes bedridden for weeks at a time).  I’ve spent the last 4 years seeing doctors who have diagnosed me with everything from Fibromyalgia, Lupus SLE, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Kawasaki’s Disease, Depression, Anxiety disorder to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I’ve had two heart attacks (Spontaneous Coronary Artery dissections) due to Lyme Carditis.  It was only a few months ago that I became aware of the possibility that I might have chronic Lyme disease.  I took the blood test and it came back positive for not only a past Lyme infection but a chronic Lyme infection as well.  I also tested positive for several co-infections that are making me sick.
Since testing positive and starting my own treatment we found out that our children could be infected to (in utero) and have congenital Lyme disease.  The basic Lyme panel is $250.00 each and we had our daughter Raylin (she's 8 years old) tested first (because she showed the most symptoms) and her test came back positive for Lyme.  Right now she’s having heart issues (shocking chest pains) and is currently wearing a halter monitor to see if her cardiologist can pinpoint exactly what’s going on.  She’s been diagnosed with Visual Processing Disorder, OCD, Anxiety Disorder, & Dyslexia.  She has blurred vision, joint and muscle pain, RLS (restless leg syndrome), brain fog and now heart issues because of her Lyme disease.
I found a doctor in Denver, CO who takes our insurance (Tricare), however Tricare will only pay a portion of our doctor’s visits.  Treatment is very expensive (some call this disease, the rich man’s disease).   Sadly, I can’t make treatment happen alone, we need help.  We’ll have hotel expenses, fuel expenses, medication (prescribed and supplements) expenses as well as food expenses when we travel to these appointments. 
Too many people are becoming debilitated from Lyme disease, some are even dying (if left untreated, Lyme is deadly) and many are being financially drained.  We’ve already spent over $3,000.00 just since I found out I have Lyme disease myself in March of this year.

What is Lyme Disease?
Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia Burgdorferi and is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected ticks.  Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, chills and sometimes but not always a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, the nervous systom and be deadly.
