My Friend Mike's Car Got Busted Up

We make fun of people who ask for money kind of a lot. There's that guy who wanted rent money so he wouldn't have to move to a slightly less nice house, that woman who wanted money for her Birthright trip, and so on. People like that are generally terrible.
My friend and yours Mike (aka
"A Dog's Boner"
on twitter) recently parked his car underneath a tree. "Why would you do this?" I asked. He said he didn't expect the tree to fall all over his car. Whatever, Mike.
Normally I wouldn't care (or at least, I'd pretend to care until he stopped talking) but Mike's circumstances are such that he really, really needs a car right now. He's got a fiancee and an unruly son, and he's currently in-between careers. He needs that car to get around to do more of his careers and to drive his family around intimidating the other families. It's a real pickle. His insurance denied the claim, too.
He would never ask himself, but if you still have any money left over after funding that guy's trip to the UK or whatever, please consider sending a few dollars to My Friend Mike's Car Fund. I set the goal at $4,000 because that seems like a reasonable number to afford a safe-enough car to haul a kid around in. Or if you want to just give him a car that's fine too. Thank you.
