Single Mother crippled after surgery
Donation protected
I am a single mother who lost her husband when our children were babies and have always found a way to support my children without having to ask for help from anybody. I also had a wonderful job with the state. Things were going well in my life. My oldest daughter started her college career and became a member of the Greek system. My youngest daughter is a junior in High School and doing very well. I had a routine hip replacement surgery to do a childhood birth defect. Because of this surgery (not placing blame) I now suffer from severe nerve damage of my left leg. I am currently receiving weekly lumbar puntures to help relieve the horrific pain I am constantly suffering from. I am also on numerous pain medications as well as going to physical therapy five days a week. Because of all of this I am currently unable to drive, work or take care of my children. I have lost my job and along with that I will be losing my health insurance. I have applied for disablility and have recently been denied both my state and social security. I also do not qualify for unemployment because they state that I can not seek employment elsewhere. I have always been a hard worker and have always been able to support my children. I am not asking for help to buy fancy clothes, cars, go out to eat. I am asking for help to pay my bills, put food in my children's mouths as well as to keep a roof over our heads just until I can either get my disablility or heal enough so I can go back to work doing anything. I have been told that if and its a big if I am able to walk it will take over two years as nerve heal at 1 mm per month and the nerve damage goes from the bottom of my back to the tips of my toes. There is also a chance that I will never be able to walk or walk with the help of crutches or a cane. Thank you for your help and please please know that your donations will not be used frivously.
