Professional Flight Training!

I am currently undertaking a professional reconversion to fulfil my dream of becoming an airline pilot.

I studied science at university, performing very well but lacking the passion and drive to fully enjoy a career as a researcher.

Five years ago, at the age of 23, I discovered myself a sheer passion for aviation after getting the chance of sitting at the controls of a small single-engine aircraft. Completely lovestuck :P, I decided to do everything possible to become an airline pilot.

As a scientist, I entertain a love for precision and enjoy the intellectual challenges of utilising a broad variety of technical knowledge and acquired data to solve problems. I found it particularly motivating to be able to transfer these skills into a cockpit in order to deliver the best quality of service and safety to passengers. A real dream :)

Unfortunetaly for me, life decided otherwise and I fell ill the year after. By strikes of bad luck, what could have been a rather mild (if not annoying) affection turned into a 4-year nightmare. The first 3 months were spent averaging 1h of possible physical exercise a day (by this understand "standing up"). I dedicated the following 3 years to restore my health and the last year to erase the resulting mental distress that obviously came along.

After lots of struggles, my last health-checks came back clean, and I'm now fit for training again :)

I am also very pleased to announce that I am joining the Keilir Aviation Academy in Keflavik, Iceland, as part as their Professional Pilot Programme in September 2015!

The Aviation Academy operates in and out of Keflavik Airport, Iceland's International airport and gate-away between Europe and America, which gives the students the possibility of training in a busy airspace environment.

Moreover, Iceland possesses a variety of un-/controlled airfields, including a few dramatic approach patters, which combined with the island's infamous climate is a promise for never-ending challenges!

The target amount here given, is exactly 1/6th of the programme's fees and would be an invaluable help towards fulfilling my dreams :)

I will be running a blog to keep everyone updated with my progress and share the beauty of the world seen from above!
