The Smile Never Fades, Inc. (501c3) is a non profit breast cancer support group based in Austin, Texas USA.

Our mission, in part, is to provide help and support to those suffering from breast cancer. Founded in 2008 we have had successful fund raising events and produced 6 books of breast cancer survivors, their stories and their images. The last of which is the cookbook (cover image) called Comfort Cooking- Food That Makes Us Smile.

We quickly sold out the first printing to, mainly, local survivors and their families. Now, we wish to expand these services to, first San Antonio, Houston and Dallas...with an eye to the future of national distribution.

The money we raise goes directly to the mission statement,  providing Merry Maids Housecleaning and recently offering grocery delivery through another partnership with Burpy, Inc.

The vehicle will be the sale of 'Comfort Cooking' via mobile and device applications distributed on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and others. Realizing that printing and shipping this beautiful book will limit the growth we look to the future of social networking to fund our goals.

Your contribution to creating this application will help us put these comforting services in the homes of many more people so dynamically affected by life changing surgeries, radiation and difficult chemo therapy.

Meet Janelle Comiskey.  This is her story.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer February 2011. I did chemo, had a bi-lateral mastectomy and radiation. I had a recurrence in my skin on the same breast area in March 2012. I did chemo and then had mini-radical surgery and woke up with a wound vac. I carried that around until I had another recurrence in January 2013. I did chemo and had another major surgery. Pathology from that surgery showed that I was now Stage IV.

I participated in The Smile Never Fades Comfort Cooking Cookbook while recovering from my second surgery. Getting involved with an organization that was helping me was so invigorating. I loved making the dish for the cookbook!!! I love that the recipes are from survivors or people who have been touched by cancer.
I had just learned that The Smile Never Fades offered 2 hours of house cleaning! WooHoo!! I needed to take advantage of that service!! My house was really in need a good cleaning and I just didn’t have the energy, nor drive to do it myself. Merry Maids did a phenomenal job cleaning my house and were so sweet! I can’t tell you how much the stress was removed from my life!

The Smile Never Fades has made me smile during the harder times of my journey.
