Kimber's Heartworm Treatmant

Donation protected
Kimber is a two year old blue tick hound mix who was picked up a stray in a small town in Kansas. She had been in the gassing pound for almost two months before she was rescued. She has also obviously had puppies, but there was no sign of her litter. The mayor of the town began pressuring the animal control officer to put her down which would have meant a horrific, slow and torturous death in a gas chamber. But, the animal control officer was loath to put her down. He had interacted with her and knew that not only is she beautiful, but she is also very trusting and loving. He "begged" the mayor to give him just another week to find her a home or a rescue. The mayor agreed. He contacted me, and within a very short amount of time, due to intense networking via emails and Facebook, we had a rescue for her. Hands, Hearts and Paws in Omaha committed to saving this young, very adoptable dog's life. However, on the day that she was supposed to be transported out of the shelter we got the news that her heartworm test was positive. When we let the rescue know, they relieved our minds by remaining committed to her. The owner of the rescue told us to go ahead and take her from the pound and transport her; she said that she would try to raise money to get Kimber treated and adopted.

I transported Kimber, and got to interact with her. She is extremely laidback, sweet and very adoptable. Her life was spared because of the conscientiousness of an animal control officer and the compassion and dedication of the owner of Hands, Hearts, and Paws. But, as is commonly known, heartworm treatment is very expensive. The rescue was counting on getting a healthy dog, but that was not to be. Yet, they would not let this beautiful dog die a heinous death, even though it meant financial burden for them. Kimber is perfectly adoptable, and will be put up for adoption as soon as her treatment is completed.

Please help the rescue help this stunning gorgeous, loving, and young girl. She has already had a rough start to her young life, but she is finally at a point where her life will get better and she will know love and security for the first time. Please donate to her fundraiser, and share her fundraiser link. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank for caring about Kimber
