Debt because of cat breeder.

I recently bought a sphynx kitten from a Beauharnois breeder and loved him for about 3 weeks before he died of liver failure. I know it's just a cat, but he meant a lot to me... I contacted said breeder a week before due to abnormal behavior and called the vet for an appointment, but Balzac's health quickly deteriorated and we had to take him to ER, where they kept him for 3 days before he died. Needless to say, it was a shock for me and my partner to go through all of this and now the breeder is backing off about respecting the contract and won't respect her 6 months warranty. We lost about 1500$ in the process and didn't even get a kitten back (though Balzac is hardly replaceable). I would need your help to get back on tracks because with my partner's surgery and the loss of my kitten, I'm almost at rock bottom. Anything would help, I will be so grateful if any of you help...
