Help Save Our Preschool

Hello, my name is Kelly Podany, and my son and daughters preschool is going to be shut down. My family moved to West Milford,N.J. less then a year ago. So when it came time to send our oldest to preschool I searched online and found a small preschool that has been around for over 25 years being run by the town community and recreation center. Upon researching a little more I found out one teacher, Ms. Bonnie, had been there for over 25 years and the kids just love her. Along with the addition of Ms.Flo, who has been a perfect fit. We knew this is exactly where we wanted to send our daughter.
On the first day of school we were all excited and nervous. When we walked into the school my daughter's eyes lit up. The classroom was so bright and inviting. The teachers were friendly and soft spoken. There was a playroom in the back that when I saw it I knew my daughter would love it. There was a small playground right outside the classroom door and a big gym right down the hall. Upon seeing all of this I knew we made the right choice.
My daughter cried when it was time for us to leave as did a few other children. But Ms. Bonnie came right over to my daughter and reassured her. In less then a week my daughter wasn't nervous anymore and couldn't wait to go to preschool.
Throughout the year, they had field trips, special holiday parties, celebrated birthdays, and made many wonderful projects that I proudly display in my house.
I have seen my daughter blossom and grow. She has made so many friends and got to experience so many fun and exciting things while at this little preschool. She wasn't just a number or a student she got to be herself and got lots of attention.
When it came time to register for the next school year we knew this is where we wanted her to be as well as our son who would have been going this coming school year. My son already loved going to pick up his sister and seeing the teachers and classroom,he couldn't wait to go.
But sadly we got the news the town can no longer afford to pay the extra money to keep the preschool running. All the parents were noticeabley upset and saddened by the news as well were the teachers. I don't have the heart to tell my little girl that she can no longer go to her preschool anymore. That she will no longer be seeing her teachers whom she loves so much. No more art projects or playing in the gym. No more playing with her friends in the playroom or on the playground. It saddens me that I will soon have to break the news to her.
Please help us save our preschool not just for today's children but for future generations to come. It would mean the world to us.
