HELP BUILD MY PORTFOLIO

As a child, when asked what I wanted to be my response was always the same, a cosmetologist. Growing up my parents strongly encouraged me to follow my dreams and stressed the importance of pursuing an education. In 2010, I graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. After college I moved to Washington, DC and started working in Alexandria as a Contract Specialist for the Department of Defense. As time progressed I realized I was unhappy in my job and knew I wanted a different career path. In March 2011, after my father passed away, I began putting things into perspective. This tragic event gave me a whole new outlook on life. I find myself becoming more optimistic and make a conscious effort to be less judgmental. I really believe my father, both spiritually and physically, gave me the drive I needed to chase my dream. With the help of my family and close friends I moved to Georgia to study cosmetology at the Aveda Institute of Atlanta. I am proud to say that I am currently a licensed cosmetologist in two states and have had the opportunity to work in multiple salons. I am currently displaying my gifts and talents to the world by working on my portfolio and my website while encouraging others to do the same. The cost of creating a portfolio and maintaining a website can be challenging at times. Through your sponsorship I will be able to obtain the resources in order to pursue my dreams as a cosmetologist. Your donation would help me in creating my portfolio which includes makeup artist fees, photography fees, and additional supplies needed.
