Medical Bills Fund

In October of 2013 I was ushered off to the emergency room after several weeks of on and off stomach and abdominal pain. Expecting it to be an ulcer I was more than prepared to pay the perscription medication costs and the ER costs, the result however was much more expensive.

The cause of illness was not an ulcer but rather my gall bladder, which according to the doctor who preformed my surgery was dead, rotting, and full of stones. Had I not had the surgery I would have contracted Ganegrene and the results would have been even more dire.

The good news is, I've made a mostly full recovery. The bad news is I'm a full time college student whose only form of income is work study, I lack any insurance and most of my remaining medical bills are more than I can make in a year.

I have attempted to work with the companies, filling out their charity care applications, making phone calls, all for naught. The remainder of my bills have recessed into collection agencies and I have been recieving harassing phonecalls and letters for months now and there is no end in sight. I am paying what I can, as I can but making so little money I am hardly denting the costs.

It's hard to admit but I cannot feasably acomplish this on my own without going farther into debt and have to look to the aid of others. I don't like asking for hand outs but it's what I've come to.

Any and all money raised through this Go Fund Me campaign will go to paying off my medical bills. My bills exceed the fund goal so as to reduce the chance of there being extra funds left over. Should that occure I will donate the funds equally between the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.

I know times are tough for everyone and I do not expect nor ask anybody to break the bank to aid me. Any help however would be greatly appreciated and would help me along my path of getting back to being able to focus on my school work and not worrying about the next time my phone will ring or having to check the mail.
