Happy Holidays to all of Fran's biggest supporters! Yesterday, our extended family had a Christmas breakfast and took pictures with Santa :) We are so lucky to be able to spend one of our favorite holidays with Fran, Lynn, Francis Jr., and Kaitlyn!
During the past couple of months, Fran has still been receiving dialysis, Lynn has been working diligently to sync up a kidney match, and the kids have been going above and beyond to make their Dad as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, like some other things in life, sometimes you have to take a few steps backwards before you can go forwards... and the process isn't going as "fast" as we all wished it would. However, we are confident that this procedure will happen in the near future, and help get Fran back up on his feet.
I know this time of year is crazy for everyone, but if you are able to reach out to the family, although they would never ask for it, they sure would appreciate a little Christmas magic.
From our family to yours, thank you for all of your love, support and continued donations. We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season! Here's to a brighter 2015!
I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer! Thank you all for your extremely generous donations. Fran, Lynn, Francis Jr. and Kaitlyn are all deeply moved by your ongoing support. Each and every donation has helped the Rapp family stay afloat during this difficult time.
Although Fran is determined to see all of Kaitlyn’s and Francis’s games, and also return to work fulltime, his body just has not been cooperating. He is still receiving dialysis three days a week and he is fighting harder than ever to manage many varying discomforts. Fran is now looking into receiving a kidney transplant. The family feels that this is the next step and the best option to getting Fran back on his feet. As you may know, a living donor is the most preferred transplant in this type of medical scenario. If you would like to know more information or potentially even consider volunteering, please contact Lynn directly for all details.
Personally, I am blown away by my Uncle’s resiliency, he simply refuses to give up - he does whatever is necessary to keep his mind sharp, his will fierce and his heart full. I truly believe that Fran is able to cope with all of this because he has an amazing group of supporters, the unconditional love of his two brave children and of course - the shear strength of his wife.
There are truly no words to describe how grateful we all are for the love, support, prayers and donations that have been received! Each of you have helped touched Fran in ways you may never know. Fran is on the healing track and I feel fortunate to share that he has recently been released from the hospital and is currently receiving daily dialysis treatments, in the comfort of his own home. Fran is also on a rigorous physical therapy routine, hopefully helping him to get back on his feet with no assistance. Each day is a battle but we are all staying positive for Fran, Lynn, Francis Jr., and Kaitlyn. Please keep up the amazing support and continue to spread the word so that we can reach our full goal!
Thank you to everyone for your tremendous support in getting this fundraiser off the ground. In exactly a week we have reached 30% of our overall goal and we're still climbing! Truly amazing!
The out pouring support, compassion and generosity has helped Fran to keep fighting through each day. He is currently receiving dialysis and plasmapheresis treatments, which can be long and painful, but he's willing to do anything that helps him onto the road to recovery and hopefully out of the hospital.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read our page, which has been created to help Francis Rapp and his family during their unfortunate time of need.
Francis was diagnosed with Lupus early on in life, however, this medical condition has never stopped him from achieving his dreams and providing for his family. Fran is one of the strongest and most determined men that many of us know. Fran never missed a day of work because he was not feeling well, he has always fought through illness with a heroic effort, many times using humor to smile through the pain. Sadly, Fran's condition has severely worsened due to several varying complications with Lupus. Fran has been in the hospital for the majority of the past 6 months, consequently forcing him out of work and creating many financial challenges for the family.
While Francis battles to overcome these medical obstacles, his biggest supporters are; his son; Francis Junior, daughter; Kaitlyn, and above all, his wife; Lynn. Each and every day they sit by his hospital bedside helping Fran through all of the trying moments. And despite the various procedures and discomforts, Fran would tell you that the hardest part is not being able to root on Francis Jr. during his college baseball games and Kaitlyn during her high school lacrosse games- both teams are in the playoffs!
Most of us know that Fran is too proud to ever ask for help, which is why we are asking for him. I'm sure each of you can recall a specific time when Fran has gone above and beyond for someone else or maybe even for you personally, and never asked for anything in return. Now would be as good of a time as any to pitch in for this special man and his family. The Rapp's have all shown a tremendous amount of strength by staying positive and hopeful throughout each bump in the road. All money raised will go directly to Fran, Lynn, Francis Jr. and Kaitlyn, to cover their mounting medical bills and anything else that they may need during this difficult time.
Thanks in advance for your support!
Sincerely, The extended family of Francis Rapp
