One last thank you to everyone who donated! The total amount that will be dispersed to Brittany and to the families of Josh and Jake is $4,250.00. That is the amount after the fees that go to gofundme.com. Knox Volks Motor Club will be dispersing the funds, split three ways, from its checking account to each of the parties this weekend at Summer Jam 6 (our big VW show). This amount will be added to the amounts collected at Circle yer Wagens and other various car shows. With the amount we have raised here and that raised by the Air Cooled Hooligans, we have hopefully put a dent in the bills that were incurred by this tragedy. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone who generously contributed to this fund for loved ones lost and for Brittany's recovery. The entire regional Volkswagen community thanks you! This fund will close on Friday this week. At that point, the funds will be distributed by the Knox Volks Motor Club to the families of Jake and Josh and to Brittany. If you are waiting for a chance to contribute, there are still two more days remaining. Once again, thank you to everyone for helping out.
Big thanks due to Martin and to Todd and Ally. The ball is still rolling.
Big thanks to Colin and E&M!
Hi everyone, I wanted to thank everyone who made donations this weekend. We've been out at Circle Yer Wagens, a Volkswagen show, where we raised another $1700.00 in individual donations from the community. Thank you to Seth, Sandra, Jaquelin, SouthrnFresh, Bailey, Joe and Becca, Lindsey, Nicole, Michael, and a big thanks to the anonymous donor. These donations are so generous and everyone with all the clubs thank you. Another big thanks to the Scenic City Volks Folks for their generous donation at the show this weekend.
Thank you Susan, and thanks everyone for pitching in.
Thank you Kayla, every bit counts!
This was the latest on Brittany last night. I understand that she is feeling down today because she won't be able to attend Josh's funeral. So sad.
From her mom-
"Brit is having a better day today yesterday was rough because her heart rate was high and blood pressure low. They couldn't get it regulated so had to give her two units of blood and today both are regulated. The orthopedic surgeon came in and said they are doing MRI on knee Sunday and knee surgery on Monday to repair the torn ligaments. So please pray he doesn't find anymore damage on the MRI. She is showing a little nerve damage because she can't hold her foot at a certain angle. He is hopeful that can be repaired. It is possible that she may be in a regular room tomorrow. I love her ICU nurses and as bad as I want her out of here I will miss them. They are amazing!! Her nurse washed her hair today and I got to help another nurse french braided it for her so she liked that a lot. She also did some PT this morning and they had her up sitting on the bed thanks again for all the support and prayers!! We are grateful for all of you!!"
Thank you Billy and Laura!
Big thanks to Tyler and Elias.
Thank you James, Amelia, and Lindsay!
Thank you Kammie, Natalie and Darth!
Big thanks to Nanette and Jackie and to the anonymous donor. We're getting there!
A big thank you to Morgan, Larry, and Rebecca and also to the anonymous donors.
Thank you so much, John, JR, and Brad!
Thank you Zen! Thanks everyone for the comments too. We will capture them all and donate them to the families as well.

On Sunday, April 27, a tragic car accident took the lives of Josh Hensley (21) and Jake Jennings (20) and seriously injured Brittany Branch (19) as they stood next to Josh's Volkswagen. Josh's 63 VW had broken down on I-40 after leaving a car show. Jake saw the car on the shoulder and stopped to help.
Several Volkswagen clubs are uniting to raise money to help the families cover the funeral expenses and Brittany's mounting medical bills. These funds will be divided evenly between the three families. So far, we have joining together the Knox Volks Motor Club (Knoxville), Aircooled Hooligans (Knoxville and International), The Northeast Tennessee Volkswagen Association (Greeneville and the Tri-Cities), German Metal VW Club (Panama City), Dripn Drivers VW Club (Dallas, GA), and Bugs4Christ (Gray, GA).
Josh is remembered as a passionate Volkswagen enthusiast, always trading for different cars and tinkering with them until they were his own. He wore the marque proudly, tattooed on his legs. He lived for Brittany, however. From highschool on, they were inseparable.
Jake "Onetoomany" had both more cars and more friends than a person could count. He is remembered as a man that would help anyone at anytime, all the way until the end. His friends knew him as a care-free, fun loving, car nut. His absence has affected the entire car enthusiast community, in Knoxville and beyond.
Brittany's friends refer to her as both the sweetest person you will ever meet and as a strong willed survivor. She recently completed basic training with the U.S. Air Force, before returning to Josh in Knoxville. She faces tough times ahead, but no one doubts that she will pull through this. She is going to need as much help as we can give her.
Anything that you can give to help is appreciated. If any other car clubs would like to join us in this effort, please contact us through the Knox Volks Motor Club page on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Knox-Volks-Motor-Club/96190627144
or through the email link above.
