Hello! My name is Taisha-Monet Smellie and I am excited to be selected as an official contestant for the Miss Florida USA 2014-15 pageant. On July 11 and 12 I will be representing the great city of Coral Springs at the 2015 Miss Florida USA pageant under the Miss USA Organization. The host city for this years pageant will be Hollywood, Florida! This pageant leads directly to the Miss USA pageant which is televised nationally and serves as one of the most prestigious pageantries in the world.
My goal in life, is to always be successful in whatever I aspire to achieve. Upon completion of college, I plan to specialize in plastic surgery to benefit underprivileged children in third world countries who suffer from a cleft pallet. As the newly crowned Miss Coral Springs USA 2014-15 I have been preparing for this moment and I would like to reach out for your support. I will be fundraising for the next couple of months as the new title holder with my platform on Cancer Awareness. I chose this platfrom due to the fact that I have a numerous amount of family members that have passed from this rapid disease so it is an issue that is most dear to my heart and life, as well as for my trip to nationals. Any monetary donation is due by July 7, 2014 and will include the following:
* Traveling expense to Miss Florida USA
* Public speaking/ events for my Cancer Awareness platform
* Advertisement for the 2014-15 Miss Florida USA magazine
* Luggage fees for Miss Florida USA pageant
*Pageant Coaching
*Fitness Training/Meal Plan for Miss Florida USA preparation
* Wardrobe for Miss Florida USA pageant
Part of the proceeds will go to the St. Jude's children hospital to assist in the fight against Cancer!
I volunteered at Joe DiMaggio hospital for three years throughout high school, received the Presidents award for outstanding community service, and offered to attend the young leaders conference in Washington D.C for two consecutive years however, I chose to study abroad in Hong Kong instead to learn Mandarin as well as dancing with Noels School and received acknowledgment for my exceptional leadership and dance skills as Miss Hosanna Praise 2009. Throughout the next couple of months I will also be doing other fundraisers to help reach my goal of $10,000.00. If you would like to make a donation any amount is greatly appreciated! I've been dreaming of this moment to be on the Miss Florida USA stage and having all the support I can get will be a dream come true!
