Cornea eye procedure
Donation protected
5 years ago I was told I had a disease in my left eye called "Keratoconus" which causes me to not be able to see out of my eye completely. At first I was told that there was nothing that could be done and that potentially it would leave me permanently blind. I went to my eye doctor about 3 months ago and advised that the disease is making its way over to my right eye. I had not noticed how far advanced the disease had become until my glasses broke at work. I felt hopeless, useless, sad and crippled .
Three weeks ago I was told that there is an operation that can be done to stop the disease from spreading and it has the potential of fixing the vision in both of my eyes . The name of the procedure is Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking (CXL). The facility that can do the procedure is about 4 hours away and it is a 3 day process. The operation is almost $5,000 plus the cost of travel expenses and lodging. I currently have vision insurance however it does not cover this procedure or any expenses.
I leave work every day Thanking God for another day that I get to see the look on my wife's face and to see my little girls smile. I wish I didn't have to ask for help im at a point in my life that my eyes are how I provide food and shelter for my family of 4. It would mean a lot to my family and myself if you could help me get this procedure done.
I thank you in advance and may you have a Blessed day,
