Mass Slaughter Must Stop

In July 2014, we are heading off to the Faroe Islands to support a concervation charity who is heading up a campaign to show the world the facts on a mass slaughter of Pilot Whales (classified in the family Delphindae and are therefore dolphins) Bottlenose and Atlantic Whitesided Dolphins.
We think the way in which these ceteceans are killed is brultal, the quantity of mammals killed in one grind alone is far beyond the so called needs of these modern day people. Thousands of ceteceans are killed each year, with no regard to age, size, sex or that fact that many females are pregnant or with young.
Faroese Grind have 23 different Grind "˜coves' around the many islands in the Faroese archipelago where cetacean massacres take place.
One aurgument is that the "hunt" is for food for the Islanders, however, Faroese officials have warned individuals such as women of child-bearing age and children not to eat the meat, as it is laden with mercury, PCBs, dioxins and DDT derivatives and is therefore not safe for human consumption.
We see no need for this cruel slaughter to take place - as freedivers we feel it is our duty to do all we can to preserve the Oceans and all the living creatures in it.
We are fully funding our trip to the Faroes, however we need help with the costs of equipment needed to document our expidition - we are looking to buy two GoPro Black cameras.(as these are best for gathering underwater footage)
We are doing this for the Oceans and our children, if you are willing to support us in any way, we would be eternally grateful.
