Put Beth Through Enneagram Training

Why the enneagram?

I am amazed at the difference the enneagram has made in my life. I’m able to notice habits of thought and patterns of behavior that were holding me back and closing me off. I am able to approach others and myself with more compassion and understanding. In short, the enneagram has helped me lower my anxiety, trust myself and get out of my own way. And when I still get anxious and wrapped around my axle, it helps me get healthy again faster.

If you aren’t sure what the enneagram is, check out this website.

Why be a certified enneagram teacher?

For a while I thought it was jusy the passion of a new convert, but I really am so moved by the difference the enneagram has for me, that I want to share it with others. I’ve taught a few casual classes. I’ve organized andlead a discussion group. I’ve even stuck my toe into coaching. I love it and if I do say so myself, I do pretty a pretty good job.

I want to be sure I have the training to be as good as I am passionate. I want to make sure I am really giving people the help they need and not just repeating what I have read in books. For that, I need to not only get more training, I need to be coached myself. The teacher certification includes 45 hours of instruction and five hours of supervised typing, or one-to-one enneagram coaching. In other words, my instructor will observe me coaching someone else, and then give me feedback.

Why now?

I have been studying the enneagram for about five years now, mostly informally through books, discussion groups and the odd lecture. I even started the formal training for certification a couple of years ago for my job at the time. But life happens, jobs change and I didn’t have the money to justify finishing on my own.

This fall, the perfect chance has presented itself. A woman I know and respect greatly is teaching in my hometown. I can take the training without having to pay for travel or lodging.

The perfect need has also presented itself. I have been asked to help lead a three-day women’s retreat this spring. I will be teaching the enneagram portion of the retreat, including developing type-specific practices to help participants bring what they learn back to their daily life.

Deep down, I know now is the time to make this happen.

You can help.

The training starts October 17th. Let's make this happen!
