Please help Cancer patient Gary with his legal expenses
Gary Moffet, who has lymphoma, crippling arthritis and is 60 years old was arrested for a very small amount of cannabis (he is a card holder). He was involved in a minor fender bender and admitted to using his medicine the previous day. They searched his vehicle and found a gram or two of loose cannabis. This was in September. He was arrested related to the incident months later during the Holiday Season.
His legal expenses are estimated at $3000-5000 and he is destitute. Friends and his doctor have donated over $1500, but he needs help from the community.
I first met Gary in 2012. He tried to shake my hand, but his arthritis (his fingers are sideways) prevented him from doing so. He had no money, I gave him my services for free. A month later he showed up with a puppy for my daughter because his pride required he not take charity. Gracie has been a member of our family since. He was diagnosed with cancer just prior to the arrest and currently is in chemotherapy.
This man personifies the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program and the compassionate use of cannabis. He followed the rules. He is seriously ill.
