House Fire Emergency Fund

Last Thursday night one of our Desktop Support contractors at First Citizens Bank, Melisha Kidd, came home to a terrible house fire. Melisha is a recent military veteran from Fayetteville, NC who works at First Citizens Bank from 8-5pm, then attends New Horizons Career Development Center from 6-10pm. She commutes over an hour and a half, so she did not discover the fire until much later. Fortunately, no one was home during the fire and her dog made it out safely when she arrived.
The fire started in the attic and collapsed the roof into her bedroom. She is not sure yet what items are salvageable because it was very dark. She stayed in a hotel last night and will be staying with friends until she can make other arrangements. She does have renters insurance, but to help her meet the gaps for her immediate needs we creating a crowdfunding site to help her out.
