TEFL/TESOL for Jess!
I'm Jessica and these are my kids. Three years ago I made the decision to leave my marriage for the mental health of myself and my children.
I didn't grab my shoes or nothing, Jesus!
In the first months, we had little furniture. The four of us shared a single mattress on the floor. We had little food, subsisting on beans and rice or pancakes for days on end. I was uneducated and unemployed, having primarily been a stay-at-home mom for my entire adult life.
But we were free and we were happy and we knew the bad times wouldn't last forever.
Eventually we decided to move back to my hometown Mobile, Alabama. Through my blog, I connected with fellow single parents and established a support system. Through this network, we were able to provide childcare, food, and sometimes even money and furniture for moms in need. I have not dated at all, focusing entirely on the health and education of my children as my sole focus.
In focusing on myself and my family I realized my passion for education and my life-long desire to travel may actually be the way I can support my children on my own. My ex-husband has not paid any child support and it is IMPERATIVE that I furthur my education so that I can care for my family.
I am currently enrolling in college full-time but it is my DREAM to teach English abroad. I know I will be able support my family and they will get a global education. They are so excited about the idea of living abroad that they have already taught themselves how to read the Korean alphabet!
To do this, I need to take a course and get my TESOL/TEFL certificiate.
When a single mom calls me, whether or not I know her personally, if she needs help I will call to every corner of the Universe and do what I can to help her.
Well right now, I need help.
I am and always have been aggressively focused on creating dynamic, healthy children. I do not care about "getting my groove back" or eating, praying and loving.
I just want an education and to be able to pay my bills and not rely on any social services or family for help.
The TESOL/TEFL course and certification costs about $1300. It is not covered by any grant or scholarship. ANY contribution toward the costs of this certificate is SUPER EXTREMELY GREATLY APPRECIATED! And trust me, if any of you, stranger or not need anything from me...I got yo back!
