Help Chelsey: type 1 diabetic

In March of 2014, Chelsey was hospitalized for DKA due to type 1 diabetes. DKA is a build up of ketones in the blood stream that can be fatal. The reason for this occurrence of the DKA was partially due to a stomach virus, but mostly because Chelsey is what is known as a brittle diabetic. Even when following doctor's orders, Chelsey's blood sugar levels can become quite erratic for no apparent reason and she can no longer feel these extreme highs and lows. Hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia unawareness can be monitored closely with a new technology known as the Continuous Glucose Monitoring system.

We are raising money for Chelsey to help her pay off burdening hospital bills, and start her journey to a healthier lifestyle with a Dexcom g4 CGM. Due to lack of Medicare expansion, Chelsey's insurance does not assist in the majority of the cost of this monitor, and will not pay for the supplies.
