My name is Sebastian, I am currently an 18-year-old social work major at New York University, and I am seeking out donations to support my physical and legal gender transition.
I came out to many of my close friends and family members as transgender when I was 13. For that same amount of time, I have been binding my chest to maintain a more 'masculine' appearance, suffering not so little discomfort and risk to my health in the process.
As I began my physical transition this past year, I decided to seek out chest masculinization surgery, which would allow me to live more comfortably in my own body, foregoing the use of chest binders. This surgery would also allow me to legally change the sex/gender marker to male on my personal documents, reflecting my identity correctly and allowing me to live more comfortably.
I have scheduled a date for the surgery with Dr. Beverly Fischer in Timonium, MD, having already submitted the required deposit with some of the money I have earned while working part-time during this semester of university. Unfortunately, the money I will be making through the end of the semester, and during the course of the summer until my surgery date, does not fully cover the cost.
Through the kind donations of others, I hope to raise money to allow me to pay the rest of the balance of the surgery, and continue attempting to thrive.
