Operation Essex Summer Project

Donation protected
We are a student initiated, student run summer outreach project. The object of our efforts is a preschool in the Akron Public Schools that is geared towards students with special needs. Essex Elementary was closed in 2012 due to low attendance, but was reopened in 2014 as the Essex Early Learning/Early Intervention Program for Preschoolers.
To brighten up the building for its new little inhabitants, we organized a project to paint a mural, fix and paint the playground, build garden boxes, design and build a sound garden- the ideas grow everytime we turn around!
A large part of the project is replacing the benches in the courtyard. The preexisting wooden planks are splintered, rotting and generally falling apart. To afford the supplies, we are selling sponsorships for the benches.
Each sponsorship will cover the new planks of wood, the primer and brightly colored paint, and will have a personalized, laser engraved brass plaque (courtesy of the Firestone Engineering Club).
We have 15 benches, 3 different sizes;
Six Foot (×10) - $20
Eight Foot (×1) - $25
Ten Foot (×4) - $30
Should we run out of benches, as the are at a first come first serve basis and we're being optimistic, any donations $20+ will earn a brass plaque on the children's garden box we are building.
