Hi there. I'm hoping there are kind souls out there that can help my family out of a horrible situation.
We're in serious trouble financially. The place my mother worked at was closed down last July. We've been barely making it on her unemployment and the little I make taking surveys for money 12-15 hours a day. My mother has been frantically trying to find a job for months, even getting placed a couple of times through temp agencies only to get laid off a week later. She has never given up, because it is not in her nature.
We believe that my mother has finally found a job. She's already taken and passed their skill tests, and she's supposed to have a phone interview today (03/26) and then she'll start work either later this week or Monday.
Here's the problem. Unemployment paid my mother $149 a week. Our rent is $600 a month. Our landlord has been WONDERFUL in letting us pay what we could for months now. Honestly, we would give him $100 of her money every week. I've been covering everything else as best I can as far as household expenses, but never completely making ends meet. A couple of weeks ago, mom's unemployment ran out, and our savings are long gone. My mother spoke to the landlord yesterday, and he needs money now or he says he's going to have no choice but to take us to court. It's nothing personal, he really likes us, but he needs money too. Right now he says he needs all of the back rent up through March.
We literally have nowhere to go. We have nothing. No money to put our possessions in storage. Nowhere for our cats to go. Nowhere for us to go.
My cats are rescues (all our local shelters are full), and the one pictured above is Sammy. He is my whole world. He helps with my severe anxiety and I can't bear the thought of losing him.
Every penny raised will go to paying back rent, or if the worst happens and we have to move, the money will go towards securing a new place to live.
