Hi Friends and Family,
As some of you know, I have been involved in a custody, parenting time, and dissolution case for more than a year now. I have exhausted my financial options and reached a point where I am feeling forced, because of my financial limitations, to make decisions and compromises that I don't feel are in my son's best interest. I heard about this site from a friend, and after much thought decided to try it, in an effort to possibly garner the assistance needed to help me pursue a resolution that serves my eight year-old son Henry best.
The expenses I've incurred thus far include more than a year of attorney's fees to establish a custody and parenting time plan, which included a custody and parenting time evaluation by a qualified psychologist that took 6 months and cost thousands of dollars to complete. A myriad of delays has continued our trial date five times, in part because I don't have the money to bring witnesses to trial or pay the associated attorney's costs. I am an elementary school teacher and simply don't have the income to sustain this financially exhaustive process.
We need to resolve this so that Henry and I, and our extended family can move forward. He is a wonderful child and has truly been a gift. He is strong and I believe he will come through this difficult time and continue to thrive. My goal is to provide him a healthy, balanced life where he receives the best his mom and dad have to offer.
