Makayla & Kloey's Medical Fund

Many of you may not have heard of retinoblastoma, which is a rare form of childhood cancer. One family very close to us has develop a sad intimate relationship with this disease. Scott & Michelle stayed strong when their baby Makayla was born 10 weeks premature in 2015. Shortly after, they learned that Makayla had retinoblastoma; tumors that formed in both eyes stemming from a rare genetic disorder. She is such a fighter! Mom and dad bring her down to Boston every month for treatments to the only Doctor in New England who specializes in this disease. 

Now, Scott & Michelle have welcomed baby Kloey into their lives, another beautiful baby girl filled with such spirit and joy. But sadly it’s now Kloey’s job to be tough like her big sister and her parents, because she too has retinoblastoma. She will be starting chemotherapy even though she’s just barely a month old. Our hearts, our prayers, our loving thoughts are with this family as they fight for their daughters’ health. While we all feel helpless in the face of this disease, maybe we can help this family stay strong.
