The Arts For Akron

The Akron Center For Art Music & Performance is a creative space in the heart of Akron Ohio.  We offer a variety of classes in art, music & drama. While we are not a non profit organization by choice, we offer our community many opportunities to study with our amazing, qualified staff, for free. We realize at ACAMP there is a need to put the arts back in the community for everyone including those who can't afford it.  We have an ALL AGES policy, you are never to old or to young to create or learn.  Being an LLC means people think you are "in it for the money" the truth is, we are hoping to keep our teachers here and happy the staff is second to none.  As a 35 year musician myself I realize the limits to making money as an artist be it music, drama etc.  By raising money for this I hope to at once pay my teachers for services rendered, though all have agreed to donate a percentage of time to the underprivledged in Akron, and provide some talented, gifted artists with the opportunity to hone their craft without worrying about money for lessons.  So many talented people are going without proper training or a place to showcase their talents. So many instructors are donating so much time they barely make a living. Let's bridge that gap, let's throw out those lessons to those who can't afford it and let's honor those who teach by compensating them fairly in a world where the arts are not as important as sports or politics.  My goal is to turn Akron into a second to none arts community with a place right in the center of it all to learn, grow, make friends, create and SHARE your creations with like minded people in an environment condusive to those who are looking for a happy place.  I hope you will consider putting The Akron Center For Art Music & Performance on your list, and if you do I hope to throw that money towards lessons for all deserving artists who have no idea how to begin to be whatever they want to be.
