Suspended Harmony in New York!
Hello! We are Suspended Harmony, the first ever contemporary a cappella group at Berea-Midpark High School, newly formed in the fall of 2013. Recently, after posting our first performance online, we were invited to participate in an a cappella concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City led by Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect, The Sing-Off) himself, considered by many to be the "father of contemporary a cappella." This will take place next year on March 29, 2015 and is hosted by Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY), who recently had a sold-out concert of Handel's "Messiah" at Lincoln Center, and have worked with Grammy winners Eric Whitacre, Christopher Tin, Dailey & Vincent and several others over the course of this season alone. You can read more about the invitation here and here.
This is an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity! However, a big trip like this doesn't come free. Over the course of the year we plan to fundraise in order to defer the cost as much as possible. If you are feeling generous, any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated! The money would be used to help us cover the cost of registration, travel, and lodging. In the event that there is money left over (which would be fantastic!), the remaining funds would be put into a group account and used for future expenses such as t-shirts, music, and audio equipment.
Thank you very much for any help you can provide! For any further questions or concerns, feel free to leave a comment on this page or send an email to [email redacted]!
