Help Reagan! Open-heart Surgery on 3/26!

Donation protected
At the end of February, my wife took our two year old daughter Reagan for her routine two year check-up at the pediatricians office.  At that visit, her doctor heard a small heart murmer.  Although she assured us that this was common, she still wanted us to follow up with a pediatric cardiologist, which we did.

Almost immediately after hearing Reagan's heart, she ordered an ultrasound and found that Reagan has a birth defect called Atrioventricular Canal Defect (AVS).  Essentially, during her development in the womb, Reagan's heart did not fully form in the center of the heart.  As a result, she has a large ventricular hole, a smaller but still significant hole between the atriums, and an irregular valve.  We were informed that she would need open heart surgery to attempt to repair the issues.

As difficult as it is as a parent to deal with something like this, there are financial implications as well; insurance will cover most of the medical bills, however, the aftercare, medications, travel - essentially all of the hidden financial burdens will need to be met and it goes without saying that a significant amount of time off of work will be necessary to care for our daughter in the weeks and months following her surgery, which is scheduled for March 26, 2014.

Please help us to have the opportunity to care for our daughter as she recovers from this.  If you are unable to do so, please at least pray for her safety.

Thank You.
