Save My Photography Dreams

Help me save my passion, dreams and business!

If you know me, you know exactly how much I LOVE photography. When I began shooting in high school during my senior year, as part of my senior project, I had no idea how much it would inspire and change my life. After my senior year, I put photography on the backburner to focus on college. During my junior year in college, my best friend asked me to do her ECU Senior headshots. We grabbed a basic point-and-shoot camera and headed out on campus to shoot her session. That day changed my life forever. This was my very first portrait session. I had such a great time capturing her memories. I fell in love with her reaction to her final images. She loved them. It made me feel something that I've never felt before. To know that I provided her with art and captured memories that will last for the rest of her life, and beyond, was truly rewarding. From that very moment, I knew exactly what I was meant to do.

I decided to focus all of my time and energy on building my photography business (Bryant Tyson Photography). In November of 2011, after months and months of saving, I was able to purchase my first DSLR Camera. This was truly the most rewarding moment of my life. I was finally able to capture moments in time for my family, friends and others to last forever. Since then, I've been able to shoot for an amazing and supportive growing circle of clients, all of which have invited me into their personal lives to preserve their memories and establish a relationship with their families.

Last week, while on a session, I dropped my camera. While trying to continue shooting, I realized that my lens was jammed on the camera body. I don't put much value into material possessions but my camera is far more than a material possession. My camera is the way I view the world, it allows me to live my dreams to help others find happiness in their lives, it is my muse and my tool. I was heartbroken. After finally gaining my composure, I finally gained to courage to look into having it repaired. I was left with the news of an extremely expensive repair. $750+. With photography being my only job, it's become and impossible repair at the moment.

As word spread of the loss of my camera, I've had so many people to reach out and simply ask, "Are you ok? Is there anything that I can do?". I feel so loved and fortunate to have people around me that truly cares about my dreams as much as I care about them. I don't look for recognition for anything that I do but it brings me to tears to know that people, even complete strangers, have my best interest at heart. Thank you all, I'm so appreciative for your support.

So, here I am, asking you all to help me save my passion and art by helping me to fund my camera repair. My work brings me so much happiness and fulfillment that I can't imagine living without it. I hope that my work has brought you a sense of happiness as well! I've made it this far with the love and support of an amazing family, friends and community that has encouraged me to follow my dreams. Thank you for seeing worth in my art. For your donations, I'm offering family and general portrait sessions for you and your loved ones.
