CLOUDS Harp Quartet Summer 2014 Tour

CLOUDS Harp Quartet formed in 2008 when we all studied together at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Since then we have toured Great Britain several times and released two CDs - CLOUDS and WATER. More information about these can be found at www.cloudsharpquartet.com.
This summer we plan to record a brand new video in Edinburgh with Tom Swift. We will also be recording a brand new CD with Varun Nair. We are also taking part in Buxton's Fringe Festival.
All our music is composed by one of our members - Esther Swift. Esther is originally from the Scottish Borders so our music is heavily influenced by the folk music of this area.
What makes us unique is the way in which we learn music together. None of the music we play is written down anywhere. Esther teaches it to us by demonstration and explanation. It's a fun, organic way to learn music and it means that our ensemble is always evolving in exciting new ways. Reviewers describe our music as exciting, vibrant, and beautiful.
We are aiming to raise £2000 to fund our summer plans, this will cover the recording of the video and CD, as well as producing new photos and publicity material to advertise them. It will also cover travel, plus any accommodation we may need during our trip to Buxton.
