A Handicap swing for Jayda

Donation protected
Hi this is my beautiful daughter Jayda.
Jayda is 4 years old, she's also the most loving, sweet and talented little girl you could ever meet. She has an innocence like no other.
Jayda is also... Differently abled, Jayda has what is called, Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Low Muscle tone, and suspected Developmental Coordination Disorder awaiting more testing.

What does this all mean? ~ Some small examples for you~

SPD

~Things are louder and brighter to her, busier and confusing, food can taste extremely spicy ..(when its not to us) or bland when we find it quite palateable. Touch can be painful and/or uncomfortable at times for Jayda.

Anxiety Disorder

~Jayda fears things other children wouldn't even think twice about doing, for example, elevators scare her, the Anxiety plays off the sensory info her body gets in the elevator, amplifying her SPD ...multiplying it, and then the small fear turns into almost a terrorising act against her.

Low Muscle Tone and Developmental Coordination Disorder

~Jayda's muscles are weaker than the average child, she is 4 and has just started to run .. kinda looks like a wobbly penguin and believe me I am proud of that wobbly run :)
Jayda is lucky in some instances where some children can't hold their heads up.. Jayda can, and looks and functions just like any other little girl, but only with family by her side to adapt things for her.

With help from her family she holds our hands to walk for the most part (or she will fall down if outside on the pavement)..she loses her balance alot. Jayda cannot climb a ladder to get up a slide on the playground, her legs cannot lift her body, and her body and brain can't coordinate together properly enough to reach her goal .. She would just fall off completely if not assisted.

My Jayda cannot go down the slide at the playground alone, she would fall off the side of it because of fear and  body control if not assisted. She requires her big sister Kayla 17 years old (the best big sister) to go through the equipment with her to lift and pull her up when needed, and keep her from not falling off the bridges and sides of the equipment (mommy wont fit).

Jayda loves to swing this is my reason for doing this page.

My little girl cannot swing in a baby swing as it is to small .. (been there) .. she got stuck.. Jayda cant use a open back adult swing .. she does not have the strength to hold her back, head and spine in alignment while sitting.

Jayda requires a backed handicap swing in order to enjoy the wind in her face.

We have a hospital in our city that has a swing like this and one school playground that is about a bus ride (30 min) and then a few blocks walk to get to ..If she isnt too tired out from the travel she can have a swing..Those are the only ones in my area I can get to with out the use of a car, and I don't drive.

In my city we have a major city playground called the Commons its beautiful, swings, monkey bars, bridges, ladders, slides and swings!!............But no handicap anything.  So when they have Canada day picnic for the children on the playground..Its a big celebration here. What can my child and many other children like mine do???

I need your help Halifax Nova Scotia said it would cost 15000.00 for a handicap swing set.

All kids should have swings, for my little girl and every other little boy or girl who is differently abled they have just as much right to a playground as other children do.

I need to raise the money so my little girl can swing.. please help us as I love to hear her special laugh and giggle she gets in a place full of other children, so she can socialise, and be part of this wonderful world.

Such a soothing feeling a swing can provide, I will never get her to come off it and go home for bed time :) Thank you,,big hugs from Jayda and her family. Light and love xxx
