We're engineering students with a big idea that would revolutionize transportation and we want to share it with the world, but we need your donations to make it a reality!

We're sick and tired of traffic jams and worried about climate change, so we're doing something about it! Our idea would reduce our dependence upon fossil fuels, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, diminish traffic congestion, reduce traffic accidents, and develop a new green industry. By supporting us, you will be helping to create a new form of transportation based on renewable solar energy that will be cleaner, safer, and more sustainable for everyone in California, and the rest of the world.

We are part of a larger team containing Business, Urban Planning, Software, Mechanical, Civil, and Computer Engineering students at San Jose State University (SJSU) designing The Sustainable Mobility System for Silicon Valley (SMSSV-Spartan Superway), a solar-powered automated transit network (ATN) based on personal rapid transit concepts. The team has adopted several specific design criteria with the ultimate goal of creating a safe, sustainable, and efficient transit solution. We are exploring these concepts and developing ideas because no one else is. We are thinking boldly and broadly, and we believe in our solution.

This visionary, multi-disciplinary project has brought students of different majors together with a common goal. Our generation is left with the burden of climate change and fossil fuel dependence and we are motivated to make a difference. This project would not only bring awareness to the incredible technology of ATNs but also help us essentially create an industry for ourselves and future students after graduation.

Your donations will help us build a prototype of our idea that we could use for testing as well as raising awareness. Help us build a better future and make our idea a reality, please donate today!

#GEEKTALK
Current transit modalities, especially the personal automobile in urban areas, are rapidly becoming unsustainable. Population density increases result in traffic congestion, causing commute times to reach unacceptable levels, and driving up the already significant negative environmental affect caused by the inefficient combustion of fossil fuels. Climate change and a finite oil supply prove that the current paradigm is not sustainable and small, incremental changes are not the solution. A drastic change is needed in how we approach transportation. An enticing alternative must be made available that will get people out of their oil-consuming, combustion engine vehicles.
