Gillian McCarthy's Den

Gillian McCarthy has lived in a wooden shed in a field in Somerset, UK, for around 17 years. She is multiply chemically and electrosensitive, so can not be around electrical items, phones, computers, plastics, cleaning products, and most of the paraphernalia of modern life. These things make her ongoing severe health issues even harder to cope with. She is an expert in how to live and eat with multiple sensitivities, and her story and several articles are available on the internet.
Gillian's Den is a uniquely crafted small construction made out of natural materials, designed and initiated by Tony Wrench. Dedicated volunteers have nearly finished the Den, which is a few meters away from her now old and disintegrating shed.
It is beautifully built, but as yet not complete, and not sufficiently shielded for Gillian to spend more than a few minutes at a time in it.
The build has been supported by donations, but as with most builds, more than expected money and person-power is needed to complete the project. Not only will completing Gillian's Den give her somewhere dry and protected to live, but it will enable her to continue researching into how to live with multiple sensitivities.
There are now increasing numbers of people realising they are affected by the radiation from masts, phones, etc, and the Den will provide useful guidelines on how to create a safe haven, perhaps say in a sensitive person's garden. Gillian grows and researches non-pollen producing and non-allergenic plants, many of which are edible, so another resource that will be useful to others.
Gillian is at the very severe end of a spectrum, and wants her experience to help others, but first she urgently needs our help to improve her living conditions.
