UPDATE 2/15/2016:  Someone recently asked how Obie was doing and I wanted to get on here and let you all know that thanks to your wonderful generosity Obie is doing absolutely perfect :) We paid for every sent of his vet bills with your donations and were even able to get him nuetered and get his shots in order, and I can truly say we would not have been able to get him where he is today without you. Thank you so much for giving this amazing dog another chance! And let me tell you, he truly is an amazing dog. This is one of the most loving and happiest dogs I have ever met and he is constantly showing his bravery and making me proud even after all he has been through. We took him on his first hike last weekend and he absolutely loved it, walked up to every person and dog with no problem, didnt drag me through the desert on his leash and really gave it his all. We have been a little hesitant to take him to the dog park since we dont really know his background or how well he will get along with everyone, but after he did so great on the hike we decided it was time to find out so we took him to the bark park at herritage park this weekend (awesome place btw) and he was SO GREAT! Played with all the dogs, ran around like crazy, and every once in awhile he would take a break to come say hi to us and make sure we were still there. Not once did he growl or get weird with another dog (or person), he was seriously so perfect and it made us so proud. We still sit there in shock watching him run as fast as he possibly can through the grass thinking that only 7 months ago we were told this dog might never walk again and now hes booking it as fast as he can through the park. It just really shows how much love and patience can really heal and it makes the couple months of no sleep and heartbreak so worth it to see him get to be a dog again. You did this guys, you gave him this, from the bottom of all of our hearts... THANK YOU!

Hello, my name is Taryn. On August 25th, 2015 at 6am my boyfriend and I found this poor dog on the side of the road after it had been hit by a car. We had a couple great people stop to help as well, one of them a vet tech in training who helped us determine that we coud get him into my car and to the animal hospital nearby. Now he is at the animal hospital but they wont do anything for him except sedate him and give fluids until someone claims him as their own and tomorrow we are going to talk to the head vet to try and get them to let us sign whatever paperwork we need to so we can claim financial responsibility and finally get some x-rays done and get him whatever help he needs. He had a collar with no tags and no microchip.

Right now we are assuming the bills to be quite a bit depending on what he needs done, but I will update evreryone and not ask for a penny more than what it ends up being, and due to recent events I cant take it all on at the moment or I wouldnt even think twice about it. If no one claims him within the next 10-15 days we are going to work on getting the dog turned over to us, we have plenty of love and room to give it the best life possible. However, we understand this dog may have a loving home already and if that is the case we are more than willing to pass this money on to the animal hospital for your bills and if anyone knows who this dog belongs to or can help us figure out if he belongs to someone we would greatly appreciate it!

We cannot tell you how greatly appreciative we would be if you could help in any way possible. This poor dog was left for dead on the side of the road (Maryland Pkwy & Pebble) and is just a young sweet thing that doesnt deserve to be miserable until an owner may or may not show up.

I will update you all on his condition and any other information we get as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you know the owner of this animal or are the owner please contact me as soon as possible.

He is currently sedated right now and out of it.

This is the collar he was found with - no tags.
